Dancin Time - Background to the Pack

In 1999, Folk Dance was established as part of the Irish Primary PE Curriculum*. This Dancin’ Time resource pack has been designed to help teachers deliver this Folk Dance strand.
Initially the Dancin’ Time Resource Pack was piloted as part of a Masters degree in Music and Creative Media, Dundalk Institute of Technology.
The pack was trialled in six Primary schools in Co. Meath and Dublin: fourteen teachers took part in the original trials.
The children involved in the making of the DVD come from a variety of schools in Co. Meath, and range from the complete beginner to the more advanced pupil.
Feedback from teachers who piloted the pack was so positive (they found it helpful and easy to use) that I was encouraged to publish the pack.
