Review and Teachers comments

Excerpts from Dancin' Time Review in "In Touch" Magazine, October 2009, p.59.

  • “...the DVD would be a fantastic resource for any primary school class

  • “I highly recommend this pack as an invaluable resource to any school in the planning an implementation of the Dance strand of the PE curriculum."

  • A version 'as Gaeilge'..."Would provide a very natural means of integrating the Gaeilge and PE."

This Dancin’ Time Resource Pack was trialled in six Primary schools in Co. Meath and Dublin, and fourteen teachers took part in the trials. Here are some of their comments after they had used the pack...

  • “Found it to be comprehensive, clear and concise.”

  • “A great resource, will definitely buy one!”

  • “The music was excellent, so much better than other CD’s for dance teaching.”

  • “I liked the fact that it wasn’t a troupe of professional dancers on the DVD...but ‘regular children’  in a class situation.”

  • “I found it very helpful as I have no experience in Irish dancing, and I learned a lot from the DVD.”

  • “It enabled me to teach a part of the P.E curriculum that I don’t usually feel comfortable teaching. I would be more confident teaching dance in the future.”

  • “I found I really needed the DVD, as I have absolutely no background in dance.”

  • “I liked the fact that on the CD, there was a voice over instruction to count out the steps.”

  • “...A great resource for Seachtain na Gaeilge.”

  • “Seeing the dance before doing it themselves,  gave the children something to aim for.”
